Become a Trustee

We need volunteers with business skills to be trustees and join our management team.

Could you be our next Trustee?

We are always interested to hear from people who would like to join our Board. In particular, we would welcome people with skills in Sales, Marketing and/or Fundraising. If you are interested in giving something back to your community and making a difference to the lives of local families then we would love to hear from you.

What skills would I need to become a trustee?

Our trustees come from a variety of backgrounds. You can join us as a Trustee if you have skills in one or more of the following:

  • Finance
  • Health and Safety
  • Fundraising
  • PR and Marketing
  • Sales
  • Personnel (including staff and trustee recruitment)
  • Tendering and Procurement
  • Raising a family

What would be Involved?

You would need to be available for a day-time Board Meeting every 6-8 weeks, and would also partake in some training (e.g. Induction, Safeguarding).

To give you some more insight into what the role of a Home-Start trustee may involve, Lois, a past trustee, shares her journey as one in this blog post (click on the link below to view).

I am a Home-Visiting/Family Support Group Volunteer

If you are already a Home-Visiting or Family Support Group Volunteer with us, you would be welcome to join us as a Volunteer Representative on our Board.
