At the end of March 2025, we said farewell to Tracy Aggett, our much-loved Fundraising Events Support Manager, who retired after nearly 20 years of dedicated service to Home-Start Royston, Buntingford & South Cambridgeshire.
A Journey of Dedication and Growth
Tracy’s journey with Home-Start began in September 2005 when she joined as an Administrator. From the very beginning, Tracy’s organisational skills, kindness, and dedication stood out. She became an invaluable part of the team, supporting the scheme manager and co-ordinators, and helping to ensure families and volunteers felt valued and supported.
As Tracy progressed through roles – becoming Office Manager and then Fundraising Events Support Manager in 2020 – her impact on our charity grew. In this final role, she truly became the beating heart of Home-Start, bringing people together and ensuring our events and community initiatives ran smoothly and successfully.
The Magic Behind the Moments
Tracy’s knack for making every event a success was evident in everything she did. Whether managing large fundraising projects, coordinating volunteers, or ensuring every detail was just right, Tracy’s meticulous planning and warm, approachable nature made every occasion memorable. But it wasn’t just the events themselves – Tracy’s genuine care for our volunteers, staff, and families was the real magic behind her work, fostering a strong sense of community at Home-Start.
A Farewell, but Not Goodbye
On the final day of March, we gathered at The Bull Inn in Royston for a heartfelt farewell party to celebrate Tracy’s incredible career. The evening was filled with fond memories and laughter, with past and present staff, volunteers, trustees, and supporters all coming together to say goodbye. But let’s be clear – while Tracy may have retired from her day-to-day role, it’s far from a permanent goodbye. Tracy is, and always will be, a huge part of our local community. Her connection with Home-Start remains as strong as ever, and we know that her presence will continue to enrich the lives of so many.
As we bid farewell to Tracy’s day-to-day presence, we celebrate her lasting legacy. The events, partnerships, and friendships she nurtured will live on, and she’ll always be part of the Home-Start family.

A True Community Connector
Outside of work, Tracy is deeply involved in her community. She sings in a local choir, plays tennis, and supports her church. Her love for people and commitment to building connections has helped raise Home-Start’s profile across our region. Whether she’s participating in a local event or volunteering, Tracy’s spirit will continue to be felt in the community she’s helped shape.
Thank You, Tracy
Tracy’s impact on Home-Start Royston, Buntingford & South Cambridgeshire is immeasurable. Her hard work, generosity of spirit, and tireless dedication to our cause have left an indelible mark. Tracy, thank you for everything. You are, and always will be, a true Home-Start hero.
We’ll miss you, but we know we haven’t seen the last of you. You’ll always be a part of our Home-Start family.
