#MakingADifference: The Fox and Duck in Buntingford is our new Charity Partner

We are super excited to announce a new partnership over the next year between Home-Start Royston, Buntingford & South Cambridgeshire (HSRBSC) and The Fox and Duck pub in Buntingford, who have made us their Charity Partner for 2023. #MakingADifference

For several years Liza and her team at the Fox and Duck have raised thousands of pounds for various charities that have touched their lives in some way. And this year HSRBSC are the lucky charity that they have chosen to support!

The Fox and Duck pub was built in the 17th Century and has been a licensed house since 1711, although it only became the “Fox and Duck” in 1743. It is a Grade 2 timber-framed building with steep, old red-tiled roofs, steeped in history. Liza and Julian have been running this great pub for over 25 years (?) having been in the family for 10 years previously, and are embedded well into the local community.

We always have a great time in the pods at The Fox and Duck. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Perfect come rain or shine!

Getting their fundraising off to a great start…

On the 1st of July, the Fox and Duck held a Summer Fun Day for families in the area to enjoy. This event took place at the pub in their beautiful courtyard garden and included children’s entertainment from Zoe Zookeeper, music performances in The Groove Garden, from Jo Finn and Smoking Goats, and mouth-watering food was served by The Chicken Strip UK from 2 pm into the evening.

This fantastic family event, which also included an auction for a set of 4 tickets for the incredible Standon Calling Festival, was the first of many initiatives throughout the year that Liza and her team at The Fox and Duck will be running to raise money to support HSRBSC. So keep your eyes peeled on social media and across the community for more events coming soon!

What’s next…

We are so excited about being chosen by The Fox and Duck to be their charity partner this year. Most importantly we hope that this partnership will raise vital funds for HSRBSC, to help us to continue supporting families in and around Buntingford.  But we are also delighted that working with the Fox and Duck will help raise HSRBSC’s profile, increasing the exposure of our charity to more local families that may benefit from our support.

Liza and her incredible team have lots of ideas up their sleeves about how they will raise money for HSRBSC this year. And we will be right there supporting them – we hope you will join us too!

A big thanks to Liza and her team for this opportunity to work together to raise money, our profile and improve our chances of making new meaningful connections through this new network we will now be working alongside. We are excited to see where this partnership takes us and we will keep you all updated about what’s going on!
