A huge boost to our fundraising target

We recently received a wonderful surprise. It was a letter, out of the blue, to say HSRBSC had been successfully nominated to receive a generous £15k donation from Orbis Investments’ employee-directed philanthropic Buchanan Programme.

Founded in 2018, the programme’s objective is to inspire and empower eligible employees, in this case, Daniel Would, to make a tangible contribution towards societal change in the communities in which Orbis Investments works, by nominating a local charity for an award.

We feel incredibly fortunate and honoured to have been successfully nominated, and want to express wholehearted thanks to Buchanan and Daniel Would for this generous gift. It will make a significant contribution to the continuation and development of our service to local families in the year ahead.

Specifically, as Covid restrictions continue to ease, we will address not only a return to office-based working, plus normal home-visiting and family group services, but also an inevitable increase in referrals as families face the aftermath impacts of the pandemic. This will require investment in the recruitment and training of more volunteers, and the continued updating of our technology to facilitate more effective, and more economical working practices, as well as essential improved fundraising methodology. This generous donation will help us to achieve these objectives, enabling ongoing support for local families in our community.
