Help Home-Start the ‘easyfundraising’ way when you shop online

Dreaming of a summer holiday?

Ahhh! The summer! How many of us start planning our summer holiday in the winter, when the days are long and dark and sunshine seems a long way away? (Actually, I’ll be honest with you, I generally leave arranging my summer break until the middle of June and then panic, but that’s another story.)

This year, holiday plans are all up in the air, owing to the COVID-19 outbreak. Many of us have suffered disappointment over cancelled plans or are worried about making decisions too far in advance in case something goes wrong.

Focusing on DIY or returning to work?

Instead of booking a holiday, maybe you’re thinking of some home-improvements? Or are you already preparing for going back to school? Or perhaps you’re trying to get your office environment sufficiently organised to allow a return to the workplace?

Whatever you’re up to, why not consider supporting Home-Start while you’re ordering those next-size-up pairs of school trousers, sorting out an extra laptop or looking at a new table?

Support Home-Start with online shopping

Home-Start is registered with easyfundraising, a web-based charity giving platform. Easyfundraising is, well, easy! Simply register to use the service, and whenever you shop online with one of the retailers that support it, easyfundraising gives a donation to your chosen charity with no extra cost to you. What could be simpler?

It even includes holidays! Whether you’re dreaming of Disneyland, exploring with Expedia, sailing with SAGA or simply going lastminute.com, you can raise a donation for your favourite cause. (Just remember to travel safely and follow the government’s guidelines!).

Easyfundraising works with more than 3,500 retailers, including travel companies, hotels, furniture shops, fashion shops and even office supplies so no matter what you’re shopping for, there’s a good chance you can support a charity while you’re at it.

So, how does it work?

To start, you need to sign up for an easyfundraising account. To do this, you first need to pick your chosen cause using the EasyFundraising search box (e.g. Home-Start Royston & South Cambridgeshire).

Once you’ve selected your preferred charity, fill in your details to set up an account (e.g. name, email address and so on) and once you’ve received the confirmation email from easyfundraising you’re good to go!

Click here to sign up right now and start supporting Home-Start (then click the ‘support this cause’ button).

You can also choose to install a small widget in your internet browser that reminds you when you land on a retailer that includes easyfundraising donations – so you’ll never miss the chance to support a good cause!

On the go? The easyfundraising app is another easy way to raise for your chosen charity, when you shop on your mobile. It’s available on both iOS and Android, click here to find out more
