Week 3 – Scavenger Hunt

Now that the sun is shining and it’s warm enough to go outside without wearing five layers and a coat (“just in case”), maybe you’d like to have a go at foraging while out on your daily exercise?

What better way to get the children engaged and off their screens for a while, than with a spot of foraging!

The UK has an amazing array of edible plants, so as long as you follow foraging guidelines, as well as remembering your social distancing. This is a really good way to get to know our wild plants.

The Woodland Trust has an excellent foraging guide for what is available monthly: https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/blog/2018/04/foraging-in-april/

If you don’t fancy trying your hands at foraging, why not try a nature scavenger hunt instead. Here’s a handy printable our list of things to look for.
