Week 5 – Mindful Colouring & Design A T-Shirt Competition

Get your creative hat on!
This week the Giving Tuesday campaign goes global with #GivingTuesdayNow – a special day of global giving, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
It’s a chance to recognise and give thanks to those who have gone above and beyond in these challenging times.
And so, to help celebrate, we have not one, but TWO activities to offer you today!
Mindful Colouring (and a way of saying thanks!)
The first activity is some beautiful colouring pages to download, print out and colour in. You could use lots of different colours, or go with a few and create a really lovely picture. Click on the image below to download.

The idea is that you pop them in your windows when coloured in, to show the world you’re saying “Thank You”.
GivingTuesdayNow says: “On 5 May, we are asking people to share a message of thanks on social media, or a heart in their front window, as a sign of gratitude to all essential workers supporting our communities. You can even combine these two activities and share a photo of your heart with a personal message on social media.”
So far, we have seen lots of wonderful pictures popping up in peoples windows across the country, so why not join in (if you haven’t already – and if you have, you can always update them with new ones!).
Please don’t forget to post us a photo of your ‘picture in the window’ to our Facebook page, Twitter profile or Instagram account, along with the hashtag #GivingTuesdayNow. We can’t wait to see what colourful creations you come up with!
Design a T-shirt Competition
Our second activity, we are really excited about… ‘Design a T-shirt’ competition.
Our lovely Home-Start Bear is desperately in need of a new t-shirt. We’re looking for something that’s bright, cheery and full of colour – can you help?
Here he is…

All you have to do is create a design that will fit on a child-sized t-shirt, and submit the image by email (click here to submit your image) along with a £1 donation (click here to donate).
All entries will be assessed by an independent judge and the winner announced on 26th May, when we will be launching our ‘Name the Bear’ competition.
The winning t-shirt design will be printed and presented to the winner to wear, along with their very own teddy bear wearing an exact copy.
The Home-Start team are super-excited about this (as is our Bear 😊) – so get your markers, crayons, pencils out and get designing!
