Week 21 – Creating a photo collage
Hi, and welcome to Week 21 of our Giving Tuesday campaign.
Goodness me, it’s nearly the August Bank Holiday already, traditionally the final weekend of freedom before the start of school – when the evenings suddenly seem to get shorter as we tip over into the slow decline of autumn.
So, what did you get up to over the summer holidays? Did you manage to get away for a day or two, a week or two, or did you spend your days re-inflating the paddling pool and watching the insects have a ‘swim’ before the children do? Maybe you took on a project or learned a new skill? Whatever you got up to, we hope you took plenty of photos!
Why? Because our Giving Tuesday activity this week is to create a photo collage.
With all the technology at our fingertips, taking photos has become the norm and you probably have a gazillion images on your phone or laptop of happy days spent with family and friends. Or maybe you’re a bit more creative and have something a bit more abstract, like a closeup of a flower’s petals or a flying ant?
Whatever the image, we would like you to make a collage of your snaps and post them on our Giving Tuesday Collage events page!
You could create your collage with a theme (e.g. summer, a favourite colour, abstract, animals, nature, etc.) or you could use images of a collection of random objects you found to photograph whilst on holiday, or pictures taken while out on a walk with the family. Whatever you decide to do, remember to be creative and have fun – and share your creations with us!
Apps to create your collage
There are plenty of free resources online to help you put together your masterpiece. Here are just a few of the most popular ones that we found: Canva, Pic Collage, Layout from Instagram and Adobe Spark.
