In “Body Overboard”, the latest in Wate’s DCI Alexander McFarlane series, the mystery unfolds on the sun-soaked coast of Barbados. Oscar-winning actress Vivienne Jones disappears from the luxury yacht Magnificence, plunging the high-society world into chaos. Amidst the media frenzy, DCI Sandy McFarlane is brought in to untangle a web of deceit and danger.

Initially, it appears Vivienne might have fallen overboard or faked her disappearance for publicity. However, as Sandy investigates, he uncovers troubling clues suggesting something far more sinister. Inspired by the Natalie Wood-Robert Wagner case, Wate crafts a suspenseful and authentic narrative, exploring the dark side of fame and the lengths to which people will go to hide their secrets.

With a plot full of twists and a media storm complicating every step, Sandy McFarlane must navigate a complex case to reveal the truth behind Vivienne’s vanishing act. Body Overboard combines Wate’s investigative expertise with gripping storytelling, delivering a thrilling and insightful mystery.
