Literary Lunch with Damien O’Dell
Are you interested in the paranormal, ghosts and the unexplained? Then our next Literary Lunch with Author and Paranormal Historian Damien O’Dell is perfect for you! He will be discussing his latest book, “Chicksands Priory, England’s Most Haunted House”, and we can’t wait!
Damien O’Dell is a published author, historian, and public speaker based in Royston, Hertfordshire. He was born in West Kensington, London and has been interested in the unexplained since childhood.
He has authored a series of paranormal books, some of which include ‘Paranormal Cambridgeshire’ and ‘Paranormal Hertfordshire.’ His latest book is ‘Chicksands Priory, England’s Most Haunted House’.
The book explores the ghostly happenings of one of Bedfordshire’s most haunted buildings – Chicksands Priory. Damien has published his findings about the facts and myths of the site over the past 1,000 years.
Damien also covers topics such as why Tony Robinson’s Channel 4 Time Team investigated the property; what part Chicksands played in the sinking of the German Battleship Bismarck in 1941 and the Allied D-Day landings of 1944; how the US Air Force used this base during the Cold War; and stories about monks and nuns before King Henry VIII dissolved the Priory in 1538.
The positive enthusiasm for research and interest in recording events at this location shines throughout. Whatever view one may take on ghostly experiences, all those interested in this topic will surely be impressed by the amount of fascinating material shared in these pages concerning this unique location.― Alan Murdie, chairman of the London-based Ghost Club, writes in the Foreword
