Home-Start Aquathon 2024
Are you ready to swim for Home-Start?
We are super excited to share this event with you once again. Our popular fundraising event for swimmers, community groups, clubs and schools is ready for action…
What is the Home-Start Aquathon?
We have held several of our Aquathon events now, and we are never disappointed with the number of people wanting to submit a team. It’s such a fun event and a great way to raise funds for your organisation and, of course, Home-Start!
Last year we had 12 teams of 6 people, who were all sponsored to swim as many lengths as they could in 55 minutes. Each team entered raised so much, and these funds were shared between their chosen cause and Home-Start.
Want to get involved?
We would love to help you or your chosen cause to fundraise. To enter our Aquathon event, all you have to do is make up your team of up to 6 swimmers (or you can choose to swim by yourself) and raise funds through sponsorship. We can provide you with paper forms and a handy online fundraising page just like this one:
Then we invite you to join us on the evening of Sunday, 28th April, at the Royston Leisure Centre and swim as many lengths as you can in 55 minutes. The teams (or individuals) swim in a relay (so the pool isn’t crowded), and you’ll be given your own time slot (6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm are the time slots – please note that the 6pm slot is reserved for teams with children).
And don’t forget to bring along your family and friends to cheer you on from the poolside. Remember: whatever sponsorship you raise, 50% of it goes back to your club, group or school – so if you’re fundraising for a building project, looking to buy new equipment, or just need extra funds, this is your chance to get involved, have some fun while giving back to the community.
It really is a wonderful community event!
To enter your team, please DOWNLOAD and COMPLETE a Registration Form and email the completed form to us at events@hsrsc.org.uk (or drop it into our office at Meldreth).
