An Evening with Author Sarah Harrison
Home-Start invites you to an evening with author Sarah Harrison (a.k.a. ‘The old bat in the hat’)
“Laughing at life, love, and chiefly – ourselves!”
________________________________________
Sarah Harrison is best known as the author of over thirty successful novels but finds it very therapeutic to get out from time to time, especially if there’s a jolly crowd and some laughs involved.
Even so, no one was more surprised than her when she reached the semi-finals of Funny Women and Laughing Horse and was runner-up in Silver Stand-Up (from which you’ll infer she’s no spring chicken – seven grandchildren aged from six to thirty since you ask).
She’s lived around here for nearly fifty years and is an enthusiast for village life – tennis, church, amateur dramatics, reading at school and, of course, supporting Home-Start.
On June 30th at Meldreth Village Hall (arrive at 7 pm for 7:30 pm start), Sarah will be sharing her GSOH – observational, confessional, all guaranteed relatable. Expect to take a sideways look at underwear, old age, beauty products, exercise, dating, childbirth, supermarkets, telly, road users and technology, to name but a few…
She says: ‘Hurry, hurry! For one night only! Get your tickets for a good laugh in a great cause! Besides, I’ll be awfully lonely if you don’t, so you’ll be making an old bat very happy.’
And we agree – it’s going to be so much fun!
Ticket Information
Tickets cost £20 per person, which includes a light supper (if you have any special dietary requirements, please advise when purchasing your ticket).
Doors will open at 7 pm for guests to arrive (to get a drink from the bar, get seated, and buy a raffle ticket), and the event will start at 7:30 pm. The seating arrangement is 6 to a table, and there will be a licensed bar and raffle on the night.
