Help Home-Start make the most of the Co-op Local Community Fund

Over the last 9 months, Home-Start Royston, Buntingford and South Cambridgeshire have been delighted to be one of the charities involved in the Co-op Local Community Fund. There is little doubt that the last 18 months have been really challenging for small charities like Home-Start, and this year we are seeing a real impact on our fundraising efforts.

The way the fund works is that every time Co-op members buy selected Co-op branded products and services, Home-Start will receive 1p from every pound spent, providing the member has chosen Home-Start to be their cause.

There are now just over 8 weeks to go before the funding round closes and we’ve been notified that there’s still £2,000 of unallocated money up for grabs in our local community. This is because some Co-op members haven’t selected their cause yet.

We are urging local members to choose us as their cause so that we can meet our funding target and ensure that we have the necessary funding to run our Royston Family Support Group for a whole term.

Our weekly family support groups are at the heart of our local community. The groups bring together socially isolated families, giving them the opportunity to participate in fun, structured activities in a safe and welcoming environment. It helps parents and children to form friendships, developing improved self-esteem, confidence and well-being along the way.

Here are a couple of quotes from families who attend our Family Support Group:

Co-op members can select Home-Start as their cause by clicking here.

We really hope that people will visit the Co-op website or download the Co-op app and select us as their Local Community Fund cause so we can continue making a difference to local families in our community.
