Charity Partnership helps us to ‘Give a Little Love’ to our families

It was a great joy for us to ‘Give a Little Love’ to our Home-Start families at Christmas, thanks to our partnership with John Lewis and Waitrose. With most of our usual parties and festive activities put on hold in 2020, we were thrilled to receive some funding that enabled us to put together a bag of goodies for every family supported by our scheme.

The bags were a lovely way to spread a little cheer and to offer some treats for families to enjoy. We included a range of items to appeal to every member of the family including toiletries, chocolates, savoury nibbles, Christmas crackers and children’s craft packs.

With face-to-face contact being such an important lifeline and boost to mental wellbeing for all of us during these difficult times, the distribution of these bags had added significance for families in need of extra support.

As the bags were safely delivered by familiar faces from our Home-Start team either on doorsteps or in outdoor locations, the smiles and conversations that took place were extra special.

We had wonderful feedback from the families, with quotes such as “My daughter loved the Christmas craft activities in the bag” and “Thank you so much for the Christmas goodies, my husband loved the biscuits”.

So, we would like to say a big THANK YOU to the John Lewis Partnership and our amazing team of staff and volunteers who helped to make this possible…
