Here at Home-Start we are incredibly lucky to have amazing support from our local community. It means we can continue to deliver our services to families in times of need.
This is just one story of incredible generosity that we have received this year.
The joy of music
The WomenSing Choir was created by Linda Bance in 2018 and gave their debut performance at Home-Start’s fundraising concert (enter name here).
Linda is a huge supporter of Home-Start, often attending our family groups and other events, bringing the joy of music with her.
This year, along with many other changes, restrictions due to the coronavirus have prevented groups from being able to sing together. Undeterred, Linda has found a way to ensure that the power of music continues to benefit her singers, arranging for classes to take place online.
This has meant that the regular donations Home-Start receive from Linda’s work have continued throughout the lockdown, for which we are incredibly grateful. More recently Linda has organised raffles for both the WomenSing choir and Play Music Play group, with celebratory draws taking place before Christmas.
Music for babies and children
Amongst other things, Linda also runs the very popular Play Music Play groups, providing baby music classes in our local area. In fact, it was from these classes that the wonderful Mum Sing and Dad Sing CD’s were born.
These CD’s are the perfect way to introduce your baby to music, singing and movement. With well-known nursery songs and rhymes, and music featuring Linda and some of the mums and dads from Linda’s classes, you’re sure to be singing along in no time!

Helping Home-Start to carry on
Incredibly, since April 2020, Linda and her singers have collectively raised over £1,400. This is an incredible amount of money, enough to support two families with weekly Home Visiting for 6 months each!
We would like to take this opportunity to say a very heartfelt THANK YOU, to Linda and her singers. We are so grateful for your continued support over this challenging time. Knowing that our local community are behind us is so heart-warming and we can’t wait until the time when we can come together again to share in the enjoyment of music and singing!
