EVENT: Home-Start Living Advent Calendars

Home-Start Living Advent Calendars – Creating 24 days of wonder

Starts on Tuesday, 1st December 2020 BST

This year, our usual Christmas activities look less and less likely to go ahead, but don’t worry: Home-Start has the solution.

We are working with businesses and residents in Royston and Buntingford to create Living Advent Calendars in both our main towns.

A Living Advent Calendar works like a regular Advent Calendar, only different! Every day of Advent we’ll be unveiling a new and beautiful window display for you to find.

If you’re near Buntingford, try out our Advent Window Trail. We’ve worked with the Buntingford Chamber of Commerce to create a fabulous trail of Advent images around the centre of town. Grab a copy of the trail guide from the Buntingford Co-Op (or drop us a line and we’ll email it to you!) then head out to the town centre. A new image will appear somewhere in the shops every day – can you find them all?

If you’re feeling creative, you can even take part in the Christmas Picture competition. Create a beautiful Christmas picture on the reverse of your Trail Guide, and drop it into The Cheese Plate in Buntingford. The winner will be chosen by the Chamber of Commerce, and featured in their January newsletter. Good luck!

If you’re nearer to Royston, come and enjoy our festive trail. We’re turning the whole of Royston into a Living Advent Calendar, with a beautiful window display being revealed every day between 1st and 24th December.

The map of locations is available here.

Or you might prefer to use our handy list:

Copies of the list are also available from Trademark Kitchens (Day 3) and Abode Town and Country (Day 5).

You can visit the new window each day, or you can wait and do them all on December 24th – it’s entirely up to you!
