EVENT: Rocket Ales Tasting

NEW DATE!! Owing to the demands of the season, we are extending our ticket sales until 21st August.

We are thrilled to be working in partnership with local microbrewery, Rocket Ales, to bring you another exciting “at home” event!

On 15th August we’ll be running a virtual Ale Tasting event, giving you the chance to try out 6 of their locally made beers.

So who are Rocket Ales?

It all started when two ‘Rocketeers’ – Dave Smith (Head Brewer) and Mike Blakesley (Sales), together with the support of Jez O’Neil (of Kings Cliffe Brewery) – created a range of traditional ales under the brand of Rocket Ales in 2016.

Dave is an award-winning home brewer of 18 years and Mike has a passion for real ales and art-deco which shows in their branding.

If you’d like to have a look at the ales they currently have on offer, click here.

Tell me more about the event!

Rocket Ales are offering four of their regular beers, plus two brand new ones. So you will be the first to try these new beers before they go on sale in the pub!

Each pack contains 6 full size bottles of beer: generous portions for 2 people to take part and cost just £15. [Delivery is free in the Home-Start area (Royston, Buntingford, South Cambridgeshire) and also in Hitchin, Letchworth and Stevenage.  Delivery options further away are available at a cost – please contact us if you’d like to have a pack posted to you.]

Dave will provide a video guide to the beers, telling you what to look for in every mouthful. And there’ll be the chance to ask him questions about the beers and brewing.

To purchase your tasting pack, please visit our page on TicketSource – and don’t forget to share the event online with your friends and family!

Why not use this as an opportunity to get together with family and friends – you could take part together via Zoom, Skype or FaceTime – or you could meet in your garden (socially distancing of course!)? Or if you would prefer something more intimate, you could make it a ‘date night’ with your spouse (put the kids to bed early, or arrange for that long overdue visit to the grandparents) and chill in the garden enjoying the ales as the sun goes down.
