Our board of trustees

Maureen Brierley Maureen Brierley, Chair and Trustee
Maureen trained as a nurse in London and prior to retirement worked in the NHS. She has had a varied career in nursing working as the ward sister for the local community hospital and as a Health Visitor. Her last position was in nurse management with a local Primary Care Trust. Maureen chairs the Health and Safety Committee and brings her experience on Safeguarding issues to support the staff and the scheme in ensuring best practice. Maureen has been the Chair of Home-Start Royston & South Cambridgeshire since 2010.
 
Lois Nolasco

Lois Nolasco, Trustee
Lois takes an active volunteering role in HSRSC as a member of the Personnel, Finance and Funding Development sub-committees. She has 40 years’ experience in education, as a teacher, trainer and manager, in the public and private sectors in the UK and overseas. Her last position as UK Operations Director of a large educational charity has been of great benefit to the management team. Lois and he husband also provide the catering for our AGM each year, and it is excellent!

 
Philip Hodgson Philip Hodgson, Treasurer and Trustee
Philip is a retired Chartered Accountant who has spent most of his career in industry. For the last 20 years he was the Finance Director and Company Secretary of a local manufacturing company, holding directorships of subsidiaries in the United States, Germany and Australia.  He chairs the Finance Sub-Committee and is a member of the Tendering and Procurement Sub-Committee.  Philip lives in South Cambridgeshire and has two grown up children and five grandchildren.
 
Juliet Greer Juliet Greer, Trustee
Juliet has been a Home-Start family volunteer as well as being a trustee, which gives the board the perspective of volunteer needs. She is a member of the Personnel Committee and our Vice Chair.  She has a background in education and advisory work and has worked in both the public and voluntary sectors. Her current job involves advising and supporting parents and carers of children with additional needs.
 
Jane Pennington Jane Pennington, Trustee
Jane has worked in Sales & Marketing for over 25 years principally within the not for profit academic publishing industry, she has also managed her own marketing business.  Experienced in strategic marketing, planning and integrated Direct and Digital marketing, Jane helps the Board with all aspects of promoting the organisation.
 
Linda Smith, Trustee
Before retiring Linda had many years’ experience in People Management and sitting as a Lay Member on the Employment Tribunal Panel.  She is Chair of our People Management Sub-Committee and also currently Chair of the Fundraising Events Group, charged not only with raising money,  but also with increasing public awareness of the work we do through a variety of activities and local events.
 

Maureen Robbins, Trustee

Maureen has worked in the charity sector at a senior professional fundraising level for over 15 years,  She is now a part-time Fundraising Consultant and Associate Trainer with the Foundation for Social Improvement specifically focusing on delivering high results for small charities and other not for profit organisations. Maureen lives locally with her husband and has two children and three grandchildren.

 

Matt Jackson, Trustee

Matt is currently working for an NDPB within the financial sector and has worked  in a variety of IT roles within the financial sector. Matt helps the board with general governance and any other aspects that arise. Matt lives locally with his wife and family.
